frequently asked

WE REALLY LIKE YOUR PHOTOS, WHAT’S THE NEXT STEP?

Thank you! I would love to hear from you. Please fill out my contact form so that I can check availability and find out a bit more about you and your wedding. We can then arrange to talk on the phone, Skype or Facetime. Depending on distance, we can meet up and you can see my range of beautiful wedding albums. For a quick availability check, text your name and wedding date to 07731 37 97 27.

HOW DO WE SECURE THE DATE? WE DON’T WANT ANYONE ELSE TO BOOK YOU!

To confirm the date for your wedding, I need a signed copy of the booking form together with a booking fee of 25%. The balance will be due one month before. All the forms and payment can be made online, it's really quick and easy! Some dates are extremely popular (especially weekends May - September) and I can get booked up well over a year in advance. Sorry, I can't hold or pencil-in dates.

HOW FAR DO YOU TRAVEL?

I photograph weddings all over the UK, and get to travel abroad for a few too. Let me know when, where, and I'll be there! 40 miles of travel expenses are included (i.e. a 20 mile radius of Cambridge. Use postcode CB2 3BJ in Google Maps to work out distance).

For weddings over 50 miles from Cambridge I will stay over the night before so I'm near by on your wedding day (add £75). For example, if your wedding is 100 miles from Cambridge, expenses would be £139 (£75 overnight plus 40p per additional mile over 40 miles). If you're getting married abroad, please let me know all the details and I'll work out the costs.

ARE ALL OUR WEDDING PHOTOS HIGH RESOLUTION & CAN WE PRINT THEM?

Yes, and Yes! Whichever option you choose, you'll always get an online gallery with all of your edited wedding photos in high resolution ready to print. You are free to share and print as much as you like with friends and family (in fact, I encourage it; prints are amazing and I don't want all my hard work stuck on a computer/phone/tablet!). You also have the option of having a USB memory stick with all the high resolution photos, supplied in a lovely wooden box.

DO YOU HAVE BACKUP EQUIPMENT?

Yes. A very important question that you should ask any wedding photographer. Firstly, by using top of the range professional camera equipment that take two memory cards simultaneously; each time I take a photo a backup is stored on a separate memory card. I always have backup cameras, plus spare flash, batteries, memory cards etc. All photographs taken are backed-up twice more once I return to my studio and a copy of all your photographs is then stored at a separate location and in the cloud. Your wedding photos are very important to me and I treat them as if they are my own.

ARE YOU INSURED?

Yes, I'm fully insured with public liability insurance.

HOW LONG WILL YOU STAY AT OUR WEDDING?

Up to you, but typically from the morning preparations right through to the first dance and into the evening reception. Timings can be discussed at the initial meeting so we can make sure that you get all the photographs you would like. I also offer shorter coverage from two hours, ideal for smaller weddings.

HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL YOU TAKE?

I do not have a set amount of photographs that I take during a wedding, I will take an unlimited number to tell the story of your day during the time you would like me. Typically you can expect to have around 500 images from your full day wedding.

DO YOU TAKE FAMILY GROUP PHOTOS?

Yes. Family and group shots are an important part of the day. However, I would ask that you keep your list as short as possible (6-8 max). I want you to enjoy your wedding day and don't want to take you away from your guests for too long. By having a short photo list I will be able to capture the candid moments of your day and you'll be able to enjoy time with friends and family.

WHAT DO YOU DO WHILE PEOPLE ARE EATING?

This is when I normally have a break. I like to let your guests enjoy their meal and not feel conscious of having awkward photos of them with food in their mouths! Once the meal is finished and before speeches I will take informal photos of guests.

If I am staying though to the evening reception, I'd really appreciate if you could provide a meal for me too :)

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER OUR WEDDING?

I can put a few preview photos on my Facebook page the day after your wedding (optional). After individually editing your photos will be uploaded to a password protected online gallery within three weeks of your wedding. You are welcome to share the link with friends and family, who can place orders for professional prints though the website, or download them free of charge. Once you've had a look through all the photos you can choose the ones you would like in your album and order any extras like thank-you cards.

HOW DO WE SELECT THE PHOTOS FOR OUR WEDDING ALBUM?

Create a free account in your online gallery and select the ones you would like. This is really easy, either through the website on your computer or by using the free iPad/iPhone/Android app. Once you have selected the photos you would like I will design a layout. I'll then email a proof, so you can make any changes before printing.

CAN WE ORDER THANK YOU CARDS?

Yes. Choose your favourite photo(s) from the wedding to be printed onto the cards. These are completely customisable and are an excellent alternative to those bought on the high street. £2 each including envelopes, choose from matt, gloss or textured paper.

I’VE HAD A CHEAPER QUOTE, CAN YOU MATCH IT?

I am happy to discuss the options and see if we can meet your budget by reducing the coverage or the products included in your package. As with everything, you get what you pay for. Wedding photography is no exception, and can vary massively in quality, so check exactly who and what you're getting. It's easy to cut corners, and anyone with a camera can call themselves a professional, there are no legal requirements to meet. Have a look through some complete weddings (not just a few cherry picked for a portfolio), qualifications from professional organisations, ask about experience, public liability insurance, backups and look at comments from previous couples.

HAVE I MISSED ANYTHING?

I'm sure you've got lots more questions; please just ask! Email, call or fill in the wedding enquiry form.
